US jails druglord El Chapo’s lieutenant for daily life
Washington (AFP) – The former right hand guy of notorious Mexican druglord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman was sentenced Friday to lifetime in jail, judicial sources mentioned.
Damaso Lopez Nunez, regarded as “The Attorney” when he worked for the extremely-violent Sinaloa cartel, had been convicted of trafficking by a federal courtroom in Alexandria escorts, Virginia GFE Escort.
The 52-calendar year-outdated was captured in Mexico in Could last year and extradited to the United States two months afterwards.
He was thought of a possible witness towards Guzman, who is now on demo in New York.
According to the US Division of Justice, Lopez was the deputy head of a Mexican highest protection prison in 2001 when he aided Guzman escape. He then joined the cartel as Guzman’s lieutenant.
In that job he took part in the creation and cargo to the United States of tons of cocaine, heroin, methamphetamines and marijuana, according to the US Justice Department.
He also directed some of the killings and kidnappings involved with the Sinaloa gang.
And he was linked to the May 15, 2017 murder of Mexican journalist Javier Valdez, an AFP contributor.
