[HowTo] Webcam Face Tracking With FaceTrackNoIR | Stan’s Tech Videos

In this video I go through the basics of using head tracking in games and simulators, and demonstrate how to set up your own face tracking system using just a webcam and some free software!

— READ THIS —
As some of you have realised, this software is no longer free. Please read the following message from the developer, and perhaps maybe you will change your mind about buying the software (it’s an incredibly good price for only €2.75):

“Almost free
FaceTrackNoIR has been around for five years now and, judging by the positive feedback, you still like it very much. Though some users have shown their appreciation by donating small or some even a bit larger amounts, it is time for a change. Please let me explain why FaceTrackNoIR v200 is not completely free (though a micropayment is a small fee, for such a great piece of software).

Personal misfortune
For almost 30 years I have suffered from a progressive and painful disease called Arthritis. Unfortunately, that was not enough: I was diagnosed with cancer a couple of years ago. Luckily I responded well to the chemo- and radiotherapy and I survived. One problem though: I lost my left leg as a result. Since then I have managed to work only part-time and our financial situation suffers greatly from it.

Positive attitude
Through the years I have kept my positive nature and because of that, I created FaceTrackNoIR in my spare time. So you can see my fellow countryman Johan Cruijff is right: every bad thing has its good sides…

I hope you won’t mind contributing a little and I want to thank you in advance for your support!”
