College student athlete dies after charity boxing match Tennessee


A University of Tennessee university student collapsed and died after collapsing at a charity a fraternity charity boxing occasion to increase dollars for the Golden Gloves Friday night time.

Joseph Tanner Wray, 20, collapsed in between the 2nd and third rounds just as he was about to sit down on a stool in the ring just right before 9:30pm, according to the Knoxville Law enforcement Office.

The college student-athlete seems to have died thanks to a medical affliction and not any injuries or trauma from the boxing match, in accordance to the Knoxville Police Division.

According to the police he obtained professional medical notice on scene and was transported to UT Professional medical Middle, where he was pronounced useless. 

The vivid younger man was learning aerospace engineering and was the vice president of his Chi Phi fraternity, according to KnoxNews

His mom, Amy Extended Schisler, took to Facebook and said that her son had died of a cardiac event, though it will be a pair weeks in advance of the autopsy is concluded.  

Schisler took to Fb ‘All my relatives and close friends…last night was the absolute worst evening of my lifetime. My son, my toddler, was boxing at UTK and collapsed from cardiac arrest. The medical doctors and nurses did anything humanly attainable to resuscitate him, but ended up unsuccessful.’

‘The Lord referred to as him household. He was an extraordinary man or woman and I do not know how I am going to get by way of the following couple days. I talk to for your prayers to keep me powerful as I lay my son to rest in the coming days.’

‘This state, this earth, shed a phenomenal male,’ his mom, added to KnoxNews.. ‘He was just excellent. He gave 110 per cent to every thing he did.’

His fraternity also spoke out and and stated Wray had an ‘outstanding educational document.’

The boxing event Wray was collaborating in was begun in 1980, and is open to fraternity members.

The fundraiser is for the Golden Gloves Fitness center in Knoxville.

‘With good disappointment, we recall Joseph Tanner Wray and his relatives and the tragic reduction that occurred on Friday, February 23, 2018,’ the organizers of the event mentioned in a post on the function web page. 

‘The complete Golden Gloves relatives is heartbroken by his passing and extend our most heartfelt condolences to all that realized and liked Tanner.’ 

‘Within seconds, a staff of 11 professional medical gurus attended to him and furnished care and transferred him to UT Healthcare Heart,’ the submit said. ‘The medical practitioners and nurses did every thing possible to resuscitate Tanner, but were being unsuccessful.’

A funeral for Wray is prepared for 2pm Friday at the Initially Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg.
